Tanfoglio can make good firearms, the U.S. importer, EAA, developed a history of poor customer support, making many shy away from these pistols. Some shops even refuse to carry them. My only experience, so far, has been with a TZ-75 Series 88. It's big issue was the recoil spring and U.S. made ammo. It ran fine with +P and European ammo, but U.S. made 115 and 124 grain "white box" ammo was a consistent failure. I put in a Wolff recoil spring that was 2 pounds lighter and the pistol became reliable with the cheap ammo. Evidently, Tanfoglio set up these older 9mm pistols for European 9mm ammo.
