S&W began phasing out the gold boxes in the mid to late 1950's but they were used until around 1965. Keep checking the sale areas on this forum and also gunbroker and gunsinternational.
I picked up a very nice gold box for my 1955 .38/44 Heavy duty from this forum last year.
