Green Dot is similar to W231 and ZIP and can be used in anything you would load with those powders. (with the correct Green Dot load data of course) It is originally a shotgun powder like many powders we use for handgun loading. The only quirk with GD I have found is that with some cartridges it has a narrow sweat spot range. A change of only a few grains could make a good load terrible but not always. It is forgiving in the 45 ACP and 45 Colt from what I see. It's tighter with the .38 Special but not all that hard to work with.

Finding magnum class powders is a good thing but open cans from and unknown source really scares me. I would not use it but that's only my opinion.
