I know you intended this as an estimate, but I though you might like the benefit of some of my research.

The highest number I've actually seen with a V prefix is V765425.*

SV guns started shipping in January, 1945. The lowest SV number I've located is SV732261. It shipped to the Navy on June 29, 1945. The book says that SV guns started at SV769000, but I've found a gob of them with lower serial numbers.

According to Dr. Jinks, revolver number SV802722 had the highest serial number of guns shipped to the Navy. It left Springfield for Norfolk on August 13, 1945.

* I have not looked at the Victory Database here on the Forum lately, but it may show a V prefix gun with a higher number than V765425.
