Either way, very nice. Especially one made by one of the rarer manufacturers.

May I ask what you got it for?

And very nice deal on the SIG, congrats.
OTD @ $1150, including 150 rounds of 110 grain FMJ.

The pawnshop was just putting it out when I came in, had it labeled as an Underwood as that's the barrel (which is correct for a 1944 Standard Products). That, and the condition were the first things I saw. So I put deposit to hold it.

Came back with Reisch's reference book a couple of days later, removed stock, and went over it with a magnifying glass and a bore light. ( I've bought a few guns there). 100% GI parts and correct for SP. I thought the safety was unusual too, but I've seen some where that was unchanged during post war rebuild. Guess if it ain't broke...

And yes, it takes 30 rounders.

Highly recommend Craig Reisch's book, GREAT reference if you want to avoid pitfalls on M1 Carbines, and a pretty good read on their use.

Here's a couple more for your viewing pleasure...
