I was buying some corn from a local farmer this morning. He had a shotgun on his 4 wheeler, he uses it for scaring blackbirds. He stated he was going to have to hide it from public view because it bothered some of the "City Folk" who stopped to buy veggies. He states he now keeps it loaded in the house and went on to tell me a story of how years ago he was in Canada visiting another farmer. The farmers dad was there, he was from Poland, and they got to talking about guns. The Polish gentlemen stated in no uncertain terms "Never, never give up you right to own guns, NEVER". To say he was passionate about this was an understatement. When asked why, he stated when he lived in Poland soldiers would come into anyones house, at any time, to eat their food or steal what they wanted. The citizens were powerless to stop them. The government had made guns illegal years earlier. He stated "if we had guns, they would not have dared do this". A lesson from the past with a message for us today. The Founding Fathers knew what they were doing.
