Local newspaper posts permit Holders name and addresses

Just looked at it, talk about a bunch of idiots.

I guess now all the criminals will know where they can pick up free firearms. Common Sense ( 0 )

In my state, CWP holders info is exempt from FOIA requests by law.

Sucks for those of you who dont live in a state like mine. It's an absolutely disgraceful act of cowardice that the paper did that. I would sue the hell out of them.

When you get the judgement to own the paper, put a requirement in that the editorial staff are required to stand and watch while you bulldoze the building.

Been toying with the idea of moving to Florida for a while.

Makes shopping for Xmas easier for felons. Just look up a name and go shopping.

How about someone post the names, addresses and phone numbers of every employee of that newspaper on a website

I wonder if that same newspaper would eagerly list names and addresses, including maps, of those on welfare or food stamps, or some other politically incorrect type of info about people, citing the public's right to know, with the same enthusiasm???

A few papers here in Ohio did that.

I gather that their editorial staffs didn't appreciate having LOTS of their personal information posted on the internet. They even seemed surprised that it happened... but then the Japanese seemed surprised by the Doolittle Raid too...

It would be interesting to see if the criminals use the map and rob the people next door..

For the same reason the Cleveland Plain Dealer did it: to intimidate people into not getting concealed carry credentials.

those bozos post my information on there then I am suing in civil court and that is a fact. That is ridiculous, my collection is priceless to me being hand downed from generations irreplaceable regardless of price. This is not going to work, if my name appears on any listed CCW owners then there will be h@ll to pay.

The paper from Portland threatened to do this here in my home state. I wrote that paper and informed them that if I was broken into and something bad happened with my guns, I intended to see to it that they were named in the civil suit that was to surely follow. They acquiesced and the list was not published.

Ya'll are welcome to move to Texas, we've got plenty of room for honest law-abiding folks.

Texas law states that information on individuals who are licensed to carry a concealed handgun is confidential and not subject to requests under the Public Information Act. However, the Department may release information about a concealed handgun licensee to criminal justice agencies for law enforcement purposes.

Actually the permit owners need to post the addresses of top news people execs and the in their front yards or on a billboard in the center of town with message on how they are anti-gun and safe to plunder.

Actually, we did that. Didn't put it on a billboard. Just posted it to the net. It's easy information to find. Use the paper's masthead and then your local tax assessor's office to find the addresses, etc.

Also get and publish the non-editorial people's names and addresses. They got extremely irate when they found themselves lumped in with the editorial people. There is a lot of info on the net. Be creative. Use it.

You should do this!
You can go to godaddy.com and for just a FEW bucks, you can register a domain name and have a website up in hours.
Be sure you email them a link once you get it up and offer to reach a satisfactory "agreement", but DON'T give up the domain name. Keep it in reserve......
