Default List of Senators who are up for re-election in 2014

The following is a list of Senators who are up for reelection in 2014. Where I have knowledge of a Senator's current stance on gun control, I have added that information. If you have received a letter from a Senator on this list expressing support, partial opposition or opposition to additional gun control, please share that informaton with us and I will update the original post to reflect that. This post is not intended to advocate for or against a party in a political fashion but rather just to let Second Amendment minded voters see who is walking the walk. As you can see, the antis are bipartisan in nature.

Alabama - Jeff Sessions (R) - Pro-Second. No current statement found.
Alaska - Mark Begich (D) - CURRENTLY OPPOSING ANY NEW GUN CONTROL MEASURES
Arkansas - Mark Pryor (D) - Gave vague non-answer when recently questioned
Colorado - Mark Udall (D) - SUPPORTS GUN CONTROL
Delaware - Chris Coons (D) - NRA F rating. No current statement found.
Georgia - Saxby Chambliss (R) - Gave vague non-answer in response to pro-2A letter
Hawaii - Brian Schatz (D) - No current statement found
Idaho - Jim Risch (R) - NRA A+ rating. No current statement found.
Illinois - Richard Durbin (D) - SUPPORTS GUN CONTROL
Iowa - Tom Harkin (D) - SUPPORTS GUN CONTROL
Kansas - Pat Roberts (R) - Gave vague non-answer in response to pro-2A letter
Kentucky - Mitch McConnell (R) - Gun control takes a back seat to spending issues
Louisiana - Mary Landrieu (D) - Suggested support for expanding NICS in response to pro-2A letter
Maine - Susan Collins (R) - Supported past AWBs and gave vague statement supporting more gun control
Massachusetts - John Kerry (D) - SUPPORTS GUN CONTROL
Michigan - Carl Levin (D) - SUPPORTS GUN CONTROL
Minnesota - Al Franken (D) - Has supported gun control; but dodged question when asked about more gun control
Mississippi - Thad Cochran (R) - NRA A-rated. No current statement found.
Montana - Max Baucus (D) - We must bring ourselves together for an honest national conversation about every aspect in this terrible attack from assault weapons to the media’s coverage of these events to how we address mental illness
Nebraska - Mike Johanns (R) - SUPPORTS SECOND AMENDMENT
New Hampshire - Jeanne Shaheen (D) - SUPPORTS GUN CONTROL
New Jersey - Frank Lautenberg (D) - SUPPORTS GUN CONTROL or Cory Booker (D) - Supports Registration
New Mexico - Tom Udall (D) - Gave vague non-answer to reporter
North Carolina - Kay Hagan (D) - Supported AWB in 2009 but gave non-commital vague answer to reporter
Oklahoma - Jim Inhofe (R) - NRA A+ rating. No current statement found.
Oregon - Jeff Merkley (D) - Seeking to end filibuster in Senate. Some past gun control support. No current statement found.
Rhode Island - Jack Reed (D) - SUPPORTS GUN CONTROL
South Carolina - Lindsey Graham (R) - SUPPORTS SECOND AMENDMENT
South Carolina (special to replace Jim DeMint) - Tim Scott (R) - SUPPORTS SECOND AMENDMENT
South Dakota - Tim Johnson (D) - No current statement found
Tennessee - Lamar Alexander (R) - SUPPORTS SECOND AMENDMENT
Texas - John Cornyn (R) - NRA A rated - Gave vague non-answer to pro-2A letter
Virginia - Mark Warner (D) - Supported increased NICS checks in recent response letter
West Virginia - OPEN SEAT (Jay Rockefeller retiring)
Wyoming - Mike Enzi (R) - SUPPORTS SECOND AMENDMENT

The guys giving vague answers on either side need to hear from us. They are wobbly and waiting for direction. The guys opposing us vocally already need to go. We need to start planning now how to help their primary opponents and general election opponents in 2014

Term limits friends.........term limits.

And I mean for everybody.

Congress/Senate AND Supreme Court Justices.

I'm even leaning to a one term President.

Each one gets a max of 4 years.

There are term limits for politicians. They are called elections.

Hagen from NC sent me the following response to The Respecting States' Rights and Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (S. 2213). Though I do not sit on the Judiciary Committee, I pledge to keep your thoughts on this issue in mind should I have the opportunity to vote on the Respecting States' Rights and Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. My family, like the great state of North Carolina, has a long tradition of hunting and gun ownership, and I take great pride in that heritage.
She has not replied to any of my correspondence regarding the current proposals. She is going to support the President without a doubt. She is a puppet.

Yes and look at what the uninformed masses have given us.

Even though we live in a age of instant information, we have the lowest information voters ever. Truly ignorant of the candidate they vote for.

In a local election I didnt vote for a State Rep for the simple fact that he had been in for two cycles and was running for a third.

We can't vote for Supreme Court Justices, they are nominated by the Executve Branch.

We the people of NC should help Kay Hagen find a new job the money we would have spent on our shooting sports may go along way on helping someone defeat her this time around.

Mary Landrieu is NO friend of gun owners. Period. The only thing that may prevent her from voting pro control is that she knows that it would be her death knell in the 2014 election. This state is so po'ed at the democratic powers that be, that her seat will absolutely be in play in 2014 regardless. Thye Republicans just need to get a decent candidate which for whatever reason it seems they are incapable of doing.

First Off,

Thank you Snake for putting this together.

Secondly,

Even if you are in a gun-friendly state, you're not off the hook.

Call or email to re-affirm your beliefs with your current gun friendly reps, then get off your butt and help the guys in the anti-states - before the infection spreads to your State too.

It works if everyone is informed about the issues and votes, but with a 45% turn out being considered fantastic some morons sneak in under the radar. Jim

Yes, they do - unfortunately. But term limits would remove our friends just as they would remove our enemies. Doesn't matter. Since it would require a constitutional amendment, it is not going to happen, that I can see.

Vulnerable Senate Democrats balk at Obama

Continue to pressure these senators, also I suggest we pressure Representatives because their terms are only for 2 years!

From looking at the list, we need to get some Democrats out of office. This needs to be posted at all gun shops and ranges.

Default 17th amendment.

I say the best way to hold U.S. Senators more accountable to the people's will, is to do away with the 17th amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Thanks for the info. As true today as 40 yrs ago when I turned 18 is the saying "make a difference....VOTE!". Get rid of the deadwood who doesn't represent our/yours/mine interests.

Unfortunately PA's nemesis (Casey) isn't up for re-election, but boy would I like to see him go. Just about every vote taken, he is in direct opposition to Toomey, and on the wrong side of the issue.

I sent a question to Kay Hagan on October 31, 2013 asking her stance on a gun-related issue. I purposely worded the question so she (i.e. her staff) could not ascertain how I stood on the issue. I plainly stated that her answer would dictate whether or not I supported her in the up coming election. I received an immediate, computer generated, response stating that my question would be answered ASAP. As of January 17, 2014 I have received NO answer to my question. I guess her silence speaks volumes.

Good luck to you all. We don't have anyone coming up for Washington state this year, wish there were a few though.

Not surprising any one of the people are taking a stand with Obama and his gun control ideas. Then again, not surprising very few are saying it is the wrong way to go about it.

But then again, look how many times in the pass they have said they don't feel the same way, but right after being re-elected they change their stance and say they are all for it. geez..

Im sick and tired of those running for reelection who vote for certain things only to stay a narcissist in power. In other words, they vote in favor of--only to save their own worthless selves instead of trying a novel idea of......... voting for something because its the right thing to do. This folks, is what people like wendy davis (TX) do.

I've been saying this to people for years now. Any member of Congress and anyone in a state representative level should be given a term limit of no more than two terms. They should also get NO salary; they can get healthcare and a food stipend of $500 per week they are in session. They get an office and internet access, everything else they need to supply on their own. My suggestion is that they actually are allowed to run again for the same office, but they must sit out for a full four years before running for office on the same level again, i.e. Senator has to sit for four years before he can run for House OR Senate.

Politics used to be a civic duty, it's become a career. Time to change that back.

Mark Udall and the Gov. are true enemies of true Coloradans. True Coloradans respect guns even if they do not own them. No man can tell another man he cannot be armed, that is why carry conceal is a joke. I am a man I will carry something to protect me from other men and I dont care what a weak scarred person thinks about that. They are afraid of weapons, so they want rid of them. What a pipe dream, cant they see that. Colorado is ran by the weak from Bolder, aspen, Fort Collins, certain parts of Denver, and where ever yuppie neighborhoods have sprung up. Many of these people are from out of state or live in a Democratic controlled bobble (Bolder). Obama spent tons of time during our gun debate, calling and extorting our politicians, the only law that needs passed should be one that keeps feds out of local votes. And for my democrat friends (im not republican either because I will not be a slave to the rich when we already are a part time slave to the gov. how many hrs do you work for free a day add it up, and income tax is not needed to fund things like the military, so dont even bring it up, a fed sales tax would easily fund everything) stop trying to tell me how to live. oh and to the Gov. you idiot Obama and Biden will not keep what ever promises they gave to you, they will leave you on your own and your done. Im afraid this election may not even be fair, obama is literally everywhere, and the USA forgot what it is, one day soon freedom will be a thing of the past. Look at the debates we have now days. What is right or wrong is a dumb argument, what used to be done was if it limited the peoples freedom it wasnt even discussed. We did this to ourselves we gave them to much power starting in about the 20s. We need to start repelling laws, not passing them. This may make a more risky USA but a more satisfying one, to have our freedoms back. I feel like the Government is directly involved in my life, the yellow rattlesnake flag may soon be hanging in my window.

Semper Fi

I did this with Susan Collins who is on the above list ( Maine ) She voted for the universal back ground checks. I sent a few emails to her and the last one informed her that a vote for anything that violates the 2A would result in me NEVER voting for her ever again.

During her career she has been pretty pro gun getting a B+ rating from the NRA but since being involved with the critical vote on the back ground checks and visiting the president at the white house it as become clear that her focus is more set on advancing her career more so then voting the way that got her to where she is now.

re: Saxby Chambliss from GA........he is not running next term. There is a whole list of candidates vying for the job. The Dems will most likely run Michelle Nunn, daughter of former-Senator Nunn. The Repubs have a whole list of them, some state government and some from the US House. It ain't gonna be pretty.

alaska , Mark Begich voted for obumercare he's done. The only reason he votes guns is so he don't get lynched.

Montana's Baucus isn't going to run again and nobody from either party who wants a chance a getting or keeping the office will vote for more gun control. In Montana supporting gun control is political suicide.

I personally don't see a name on that list that needs to be sent back to D.C.

I'll be voting against Alexander in the primary, and again in the general election if necessary.

In MI, Levin is not running (THANK GOD!). So we have to wait and see who is going to run for the seat and their background.

The problem that a lot of us are going to face is that we may not want to send who we have back to DC but the ones who are running against them may not be a better choice to begin with. Be sure to properly research any candidate that is running against them. In may cases a write in may be the best option.
