All Colorado business will be on the no purchase list at the start of business tomorrow....

Just read an article, can someone verify what it was exactly? Here's what I got.

Background checks on ALL firearm sales, paid for by the buyer.

No magazines with a capacity greater than 15 rounds.

No firearms on any college campus, no acceptions.

How does a magazine round limit do anything? Unless we station police officers literally everywhere the shooter will continue to have enough time to reload multiple times. That's assuming they even care enough about the law to follow it. I would assume most mass murder's could really careless about what law's they break since there committing murder.

Had this discussion w/ a retired (in Mexico) RCMP from Toronto just today. Same question "Why does anyone need..." and "well if they can't get the gun, they won't commit the murder". The guy actually said that to me. Said he watched CNN and knew all about it. Said Canada was much safer since they passed all their gun laws, contoll handguns by forcing shooters to keep their pistols at a gun club...and then told me "you can check your handgun out of the gun club and hide it under your matrass if you want, they never check...so it's o.k." what a hypocritical thing to say.
I asked if they still tugged their forelock to the queen...

Default Done with Colorado

I'm done spending any of my money in Colorado. My son plays college baseball and plays games in Colorado. My new plan is to go to the games and then head for the nearest border to buy gas, food or hotel room. I only hope that all the(gun loving) out of state Bronco fans boycott home games, so they will no longer be able to afford Peyton Manning.
If you couldn't tell, I'm a bronco hater, But i used to go to games just to watch other teams. I've also been to Colorado Rockies, and Avalanche games. But NO MORE. I will never spend any more of my money in that state again.
If that means driving to Salt Lake City , Utah to fly to the SWCA annual meeting, then so be it.

Well I likewise will restrict any purchases in NY, CA, IL, NJ, and CO. But I finally had a gut full. Today I sent my membership dues in to the NRA, and I do not own a rifle, only revolvers.

Here is the article from the NRA site:

In the face of tens of thousands of gun owners, sportsmen and shooting enthusiasts, anti-gun zealots leading the rights-infringing charge in Denver passed a package of anti-gun bills in the state House seeking to undermine the Second Amendment in Colorado.

House passage of the bills below should be a wake-up call to everyone across this diverse and freedom-loving state. Your rights are under an all-out assault by those who see you and your way of life as a problem that needs to be fixed.

House Bill 1224 – Bans magazines with a capacity greater than fifteen rounds. (Passed 34-31)

House Bill 1226 – Repeals current law allowing individuals with a concealed carry permit to carry a firearm for self-defense on a college or university campus. (Passed 34-31)

House Bill 1228 – Imposes a “gun tax” for a background check when purchasing a firearm. (Passed 33-32)

House Bill 1229 – Criminalizes the private transfer of a firearm. (Passed 36-29)

The votes taken today by those House members in favor of these bills will put hundreds out of work in Colorado, eliminate hundreds of millions of dollars in economic activity that will go to other states and make criminals out of unsuspecting law-abiding citizens.

PMAG Manufacturing, (MagPul) says on their facebook home page that if this passes and is signed into law, They will leave Colorado and take their 600 jobs with them. "We will make sure to at least have a small, remain-behind operation through the 2014 elections to remind folks why we are gone" said Richard Fitzpatrick, President and CEO.
GOOD FOR MAGPUL!!

The state senate hasn't passed this yet. They need to hear from their voters "We'll remember in November."

If you want to boycott Colorado because of the gun laws, then at least send a letter to the state tourism office or to those legislators who supported the bills (or maybe those who opposed?). Otherwise, boycotting the state and Colorado businesses will mean nothing because no one will know. Credit to Magpul for standing strong in this and as much as I would hate to see them go I cannot blame them one bit.

The laws aren't final yet...the state senate has to vote and then the governor has to sign off.

There is still some hope we can head off the "no ccw on state college campuses" and get the mag limit bumped up from 15-20, but we are almost certain to get a limit. They started with the ever-popular 10 round limit but then decided they might lose if they didn't move on the number, so the number went to 15. I am not sure but I might wish they stayed at 10 because we might have been able to kill it altogether. The background checks on private sales is as good as signed and the $10.00 fee for background checks is probably a done deal as well.

Gun owners put up a valiant fight and packed the hearings, and are still doing so, but so far the votes went along party lines and the Dems have a majority. As you can imagine, the hearings have pretty much been a sham and media is pushing these laws hard, as they are throughout the country.

It's gonna be a rough 4 years.

Minnesota has a murder rate of about 1.4/100,000. Shall issue, black guns, no registration. Canada has a murder rate of 1.7/100,000 and is eliminating the registry cause all it does is suck money. It aint the gun. Its the people. But we already know that.

[QUOTE=10ring;137034425]If you want to boycott Colorado because of the gun laws, then at least send a letter to the state tourism office . . .

An excellent suggestion! I just sent an e-mail to the Colorado Dept. of Tourism explaining why I, nor any member of my family, would never spend another nickel
in Colorado or with any business in Colorado and request that all other interested Forum members do the same,
Thanks,
teesur.

I find it interesting (and extremely hypocritcal) that the potheads in Colorado can whine and cry and kick and scream about their "RIGHTS" until they get dope legallized in their state, and then today (less than four months later) their House of Representatives passes a series of gun laws that will do NOTHING except INFRINGE upon the rights of Colorado residents.

Way to go, Colorado......your state has officially gone up in smoke. If these bills become law you can no longer legally purchase a firearm without first asking permission from your government.

But what the heck.......at least you can buy some weed.

This makes me sick.
