Newspaper publishes list of all school districts in Iowa that do not have security

The Des Moines Register (Or, as I prefer to call it, Pravda West) published, in their online edition Wednesday a list of all the school districts in Iowa and whether or not they had security, whether private or LEOs. I heard it on the Simon Conway show on WHO radio. He had a link about it to his Facebook page. I went to the link in the afternoon and it was gone. Apparently enough people called the paper and showed their displeasure. I Googled it this morning, and they had an interview with the publisher, who was SHOCKED, shocked, I say that this was released. Yeah, right. The paper is owned by Gannett, the same outfit that published the names of all the gun owners in New York a little while ago. The Register is also vehemently anti-gun.

Some people are opining that the anti-gun forces actually want another shooting, to spur Congress to pass legislation. I don't know if I believe that, but something like this is incredibly stupid.

I generally use tin foil for it's intended purpose and don't believe that this incident was planned to facilitate another tragic attack.......But with the public's support for more gun control beginning to wane,politicians gauging their reelection chances because of asinine bills and the Prez urging the country not to forget Sandy Hook it definitely would help to re stoke the dying embers of their cause.

Jim, look around carefully at what you can plainly see (not the spin that comes afterward) and feel free to re-evaluate. Fanatics usually have some method to their madness, even if frequently it seems incomprehensible. It is lame in the extreme to hide behind free speech principles in a case like this when the resulting danger to others is apparent to anyone. I am not surprised that the publisher felt "shocked" that this happened.

For a bunch of liberal trash it probably WAS a good idea compared to the other **** they were thinking about publishing.

I have no information about this story but one thing I can say for certain. Most people in the media have absolutely no knowledge of guns or subjects relating to them. Also, that this lack of knowledge does not in any way deter them from forming an opinion and influencing their reporting to the public. What the media stopped doing years ago is its job. Report the facts, remain independent, present both sides and let the chips fall where they may.

It appears that someone is wanting some nut somewhere to do a little research using this data . . . someone who will be willing to kill to make a name for himself.

It would appear that the reporters and researchers assembling this information were paid employees so it is logical to think that they were directed to invest their time putting this together over other reporting duties.

It appears the publisher of this information is a spineless coward who is insensitive to what grief another shooting would bring to parents.

It appears that the hope of the publisher is a victory of their goals on gun control even if innocent blood is spilled to propel their cause ahead.

I can find no other logical conclusion for the publishing of this incredibly irresponsible report. Can you?

The media has done nothing but fuel the mass shooting hysteria since day one. They have seen to it that every warped little whack job can get his moment of fame. They should be ensuring that each perp is getting a moment of shame and ridicule instead. Most of these pathetic freaks would not be able to stand the thought of being remembered as a loser who couldn't make the cut in society and would probably just off themselves instead of killing little school kids, etc.

It appears that they will stop at nothing to get what they want. We should ask all of our politicians why they want to punish the gun owning citizens for .We have not harmed any one or caused a problem to them are any one else. This paper should be held accountable for this stupid act. people of Iowa should boycott them . Our 2nd amendment is under attack on all fronts and we should not give up.

I just went to the Des Moines Register Facebook page. Not a word from them about this, but the comments section is FULL of peoples opinions on this. Looks like they really stepped in it this time.

These indoctrinated Progressive Liberals have no choice but to flock towards big government. In some cases, they actually run towards it, tripping now and then, as was the case in Des Moines, Iowa at the Register. It would seem they are fine with arming our government and creating a police state, but somehow feel that civilians should not be armed.

They want to be good subjects, good workers, and good socialists, creating perfect balance, with no wealth, and no poverty, no winners and no losers.........basically they want to be tyrannized, but they don't see it as tyranny. They see it as sustainability, social justice, and fairness, with government overseeing everyone and everything to ensure some unattainable ideology. Of course the party leaders don't really believe the stuff they are shoveling, no they plan on maintaining their wealth and status above the rest, after all someone has to occupy all the nice homes in the nice areas.

I know this sounds a bit over the top......but to what end do you think they are hoping for?
Hollywood couldn't make this stuff up.......truth is stranger than fiction.
Their movement is in full swing. That's why their president will come to Colorado to praise his followers for the great job they did infringing on our 2nd Amendment Rights with the recent passing of insane, illogical gun control laws. And we will pay for his campaign pressing for gun control, because this is the Age of Obama, and it is their time to shine.

Another case of news media members thinking that madmen think like normal people, and are not going to use this info to pick a soft target.
Would they publish the names and addresses of warehouses that have no burglar alarms? Probably, if they thought it would sell papers by stirring controversy and generating concern. It's crass, and ignorant of how criminals and the mentally disturbed respond to information and signs of vulnerability.

I'm sure the parents could get involved in their school, as they should, and not be dependent on the Des Moines register for this information. I think this editor is a little too full of himself!

The interesting thing is when Wayne LaPierre called for putting LEOs and armed guards in schools the Register had a hissy fit. I really can't figure this out. They don't want guns in schools at all, but they're telling the world who does and does not have security. This is going to blow up in their faces.
