Default Can you say, hacked?

This site has been pretty good. Very good source for active legislation, responses to you representatives, sharing imporant issues.

Predominantly you can tell people are voting from conservative or libertarian views. Meaning most gun-control related bills are STRONGLY opposed.

But then there is this one. That suddenly has 50,000 votes and according to the heatmap has support from every single state.

They can't get 20 people to show up at a rally but now all of a sudden they got 50,000 people to vote on a Bloomberg bill?

I don't buy it. It's either manipulated data, or a hack.

I don't know popvox at all, but when I follow that link it only shows 576 "users" supporting it, 170 something against.

I see that number as a total for something (not sure what) but if you click the Back to the Bill link, you'll get the actual vote totals of:

78% Support 50740 users
22% Oppose 14032 users

I emailed them and got a response back that the skewed numbers are a result of a Mayors Against Guns campaign right after Sandy Hook. Almost all of the votes occurred in 2012, Back when that group actually had some teeth. So I guess it's a false alarm.

I really like this site otherwise. For Federal legislation it's a good way to read bills, keep up on the status, and share your support / objection to them.

A brief investigation shows that POPVOX is just another propaganda farm.

Gotcha. Figured it was my lack of familiarity with popvox showing.

Good work on your part. Yeah if that is cumulative and includes all the pushes by groups like MAG that's not a very scary number in total.
