Illinois Firearm Registration Bill to be Introduced
State Rep. Kelly Cassidy (D - Cook County) is filing a "firearm registration" bill called the Firearm Registration Act, where Illinoisians would have to register every gun they owned and get a background check as well as a background check upon renewal. It would also only allow you to buy or own ammunition for guns that you had registered.

Now, I am sure this has no chance of going anywhere (but anybody who supports it I hope finds themselves out of a job come next election), but this quote she gave (in the Quincy Journal) just made my head spin:
“We’ve dealt for too long with gun violence in our neighborhoods, most often perpetrated by individuals who acquired the firearm through illicit means,” said State Rep. Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago) who filed the bill on Wednesday. “Registration is a common sense policy that ties the weapon to it’s buyer, preventing the types of straw purchasing that put guns into criminals hands,” Cassidy stated.
...So, she is saying that this is "common sense" and would stop the already illegal act of straw purchases...? :

Problem is there's only one answer to this BS. That comes at election time but you have to have the numbers to back you. Come election time most people will remember the one good thing a politician did not the multitude of bad.
