Brady campaign offers to help gun owners!

Just saw that the Brady campaign has a toll free number you can call to be automatically contacted with a legislator that voted down the proposed universal background checks.

You call, get a recorded message from the Brady folks who tell you what to say and then you are automatically connected to a legislator's office.

I called (1-855-506-7565) and when I was connected I left a message thanking the the legislator for supporting Second Amendment rights.

So nice to spend Brady's dime to exercise my free speech rights and participate in the American system.

I encourage you to call and thank a legislator for supporting the Second Amendment!

Oh and BTW:
Something the Brady Campaign DOESN'T tell you is the comfortable living Sarah Brady has made off her husbands misfortune. The last I knew she annually receives almost a half million in salary and perks.

My concern about using this tactic would be this: What if no one in that particular legislator's office bothered to listen to each and every call? I can only imagine that things could get very hectic at times, and aides and interns probably search for ways to speed things up. What if they listen to a few responses (or perhaps not any...they just see the calls are originating from HCI) and then simply total the number of calls originating from that line(s), and associate all of those calls as being "for" the proposed background checks?

Without knowing the specifics of how these things are handled, I'd be concerned that I might be helping to send the wrong message.

Are you making the implication that our elected representatives might base decisions on nothing but guesswork and not actually have factually researched anything.

What happened to them is a terrible tragedy. Unfortunately, they have turned their dislike of guns on all of us lawful gun owners instead of trying to make the mental health aspect of this tragedy the focus of their scorn. For that she deserves no respect.
