Alabama Rest Area Restrictions?
Has Alabama changed the rules on concealed carry in rest areas? There is a NO WEAPONS ALLOWED sign on the door at the rest area at Eufaula on 431.
I can't find anything in Alabama’s Firearms and Weapons Law that applies to rest areas.
The sign is white letters and appears to be applied directly on the glass not something someone just stuck there.
This is the only Al rest area I've been in recently I'm wondering if this is an official sign.

As far as I know all rest areas are maintained by the Govt just like the roads.

I saw the same sign outside of Mobile on I-10 back in March. Seemed to apply to the building, not the outside areas.

Several weeks ago in returning from Montgomery, Al. Three of us stopped at the I-10 rest area at Evergreen. As all three of use were CC at the time. I purposely looked for no weapons signs but found none posted.

This sign is on the door of the building with the restrooms and information desk. I didn't see any restrictions on pulling into the rest area.

Alabqma rest area restrictions
Alabama visitors will find its gun laws stricter than some other states of the Cotton Belt but generally conducive to unmolsted travel. But, despite this relative freedom,l licensees should still watch for postings that prohibit carry in certain public buidings, universally and restricted access facilities.Buildings with restricted access are also prohibited. But these places must post signs and may not prohibit possission in parked cars. In State parks, concealed handgun carry by recognized liceinsees permitted. Recognized permittees can carry a handgun in a vehicle or concealed on or about one's person. Alabama does recognize any out-of-state carry permit so long as the permittee is a nonresident. Hope this helps on the requirements.

The only no guns allowed sign I've seen in Alabama ironically is on a pawn shop that carries guns. My son goes there and has got some good deals, but personally I'd cross it off my list. Other than that and the court house annex when he went to renew his CCW I haven't seen other places posted.

Seems an appropriate line of thought that a public toilet would be considered a government building...
