Washington attorney general proposes assault-weapons ban | The Seattle Times

Why people want to turn Washington into California is beyond me. You move out of a state, and then try to turn your new place into the same dysfunctional pile as the one you left???

We had the same thing happen back in the 80's out there for real estate. People would sell their homes in CA for huge amounts then would have to spend huge amounts for homes in WA, driving all the prices up.

And they were a-holes to boot usually.

It sounds like a national conspiracy to do this. The Massachusetts AG came out with a ban on AR-15 clones, making up the argument that the parts were interchangeable and one other I am forgetting right now. She ignored 22 years of settled and accepted law to make up these arguments. She also hinted that those of us who bought these rifles before her ban bought them illegally and that she may take action against in the future.

Like a said, it appears to be a conspiracy by state AGs.

Monkey see monkey do. If they see it working in one state they figure it will work in theirs. Laws by simple decree suck. In Montana the courts recognize legislative intent. As the minutes of the legislator and its committees are on file at the state law library it isn't that hard to show what they intended when they wrote the law as opposed to watt the AG decided it means. But, then nobody in this state that wants to keep their office would vote for a gun control measure in the first place.

Default Washington Attorney General at it again

Washington residents, heads up. Your (our) elected AG is trying an end run. He is proposing today a ban on "assault type" weapons and a 10 round mag capacity limit. He says that he knows it probably won't pass so he proposed bill number 2, a bill that would require purchasers of "semi automatic rifles" be 21 years of age, or older, require a new license that requires yearly renewal, and other non specified regulations (10 round limit?). This he feels is sure to pass. His comments were that you have to be 21 to buy a pistol so... Well with the same logic, we should drop the pistol age. Oh well, just beware what he is up to. Call your representatives, remember I-594

Same thing on the East Coast. Move South from the NE states because of the high taxes. Then start pushing more regulations, more government, more freebies, etc and driving up taxes for everyone else. A sizable portion have their pension income from the state left behind. Nice people over all but if they liked the government they had why didn't they stay there?

Mostly it's to do with a Gov of said State wanting businesses to move there-which in turn is like a 5th column happening==bad results. Perry is responsible for Texas turning from solid red-to PINK!!!!!!!!!!!!
