The governor just announced a temporary state of emergency from Friday night to Tuesday night for the capitol grounds. He advises that people who do not have business in the capitol area on Monday to stay away. Richmond mayor Stoney delivered a lecture on how people are to behave when in Richmond. I listened to their addresses on the radio, seems to be pretty poor Kabuki theater in my opinion.

stoney lecturing, that's funny. he should go to the projects and lecture there, where they are killing each other nightly ... I wonder if they are legally purchased firearms? the hypocrisy is baffling

Gee, wonder what he's so worried about? After all, you can poke a bear with impunity, right?

Rumor has it that yes, Northam and his anti-gun henchmen are hiring outside agitators to come in and pose as violence-prone-trigger-happy-paranoid gun owners in an attempt to disrupt the legal and Constitutionally-protected assembly of real gun owners who are in Richmond to lobby for gun rights on January 20. The rumor goes on to say that these agitators are being hired from the roster of applicants who were not hired by the United Nations as Disarmament Officers.

Anybody ever heard of The Battle of Blair Mountain? It just seems like a good time to do some scholarly research on this significant yet largely unknown event in US history.

Groups denied their Constitutional and God given rights have used far more extreme methods to get their rights. Some of them are banned topics so there’s no need to enumerate them.
They certainly got their way.

I seriously doubt that Blair Mountain is "largely unknown" to the people in West Virginia, especially those whose grandfathers and other kin took up arms. I have a hundred bucks says that the word "Matewan" can still bring bloodshed if talked about in the wrong way to West Virginians.
I'm still pretty familiar with it since I wrote a paper on it in school.
I'm not going to go back and look it up, but briefly, it was a labor dispute between coal miners and mine owners. Putting it bluntly, it was a genuine uprising, a true armed rebellion against what was viewed by miners as corporate tyranny (which it was, by the way). Keep in mind, this was only around fifty years since the end of the Civil War. Still, the only similarity it could possibly have to today's situation in Virginia is that it involved armed miners who made the mistake of thinking they could win a shooting war with federal troops. In my opinion it's ridiculous to compare Blair Mountain to today's situation in Virginia.
Frankly, if anyone here believes a bunch of armed "militia" would be stupid enough to storm Richmond and face the possibility of going up against well trained and well armed federal troops and actually prevail, they're living in a dreamworld.
I give Virginia gun owners credit for having more sense than that.

I have received responses from every on of my representatives that I emailed. They wanted to verify addresses. They are worried about re-election and these were in NOVA. I encourage everyone to email your reps, tell them you will work to get them un-elected if they vote for any of the legislation in any format. Keep it professional. Don't wait. Do it now - it takes only a few minutes. Right now the liberals think is all west vs east and D vs R. I informed them that Ds own a lot guns, even in NOVA. That got attention

This is just another political ploy by the irresponsible public officials that are running the show in Richmond. They're hoping all the huffin and puffin will make for bad press for law abiding citizens. And it will, because the general public has no idea what's really at stake, they will just listen to the fear mongering and condemn the 2nd amendment based on this false hysteria.

I will agree. Basically, if you tell the public the same lie for long enough, they will come to believe it to be the truth. I also fear that such rhetoric may also inspire some people to carry out acts of violence, which will only serve to support the lie.

I e-mailed my state senator (Joe Morrissey, D) on Monday. This is Thursday and neither he nor anyone in his office have had the common courtesy to even send me a generic response. It appears that they do not care what their constituents want, they are doing what they have been told to do by the party and by their wealthy campaign donor.

Now, you are “woke” .....they’ll toe the party line no matter. Lesson for today, never give them the majority. Even if they own guns they’ll vote how the party leader tells them.
It was easier for them to be in the minority and be pro 2A.

Has anyone heard of any transportation options for lobbying on Monday?
Any buses scheduled? Car pooling?
Parking will be hard to come by, I imagine.
Might be a good excuse for a meet & greet

I never said, nor did I imply that the Citizens in Virginia were going to attempt anything like that. I'm merely saying that people who are wondering how a boogaloo might proceed in Virginia, should look at how Blair Mountain played out. Similar players - Armed Citizens, State Police, National Guard - similar topography and setting - rural and mountainous. People would do well to read up on things like this, or the Battle of Athens...and especially the Bonus Expeditionary Forces occupation in Washington DC.

here are details quoted from VCDL alert
20th.
PARKING: If you are coming by car, there will be a satellite parking area at the Diamond located at 3001 N Arthur Ashe Blvd, Richmond, VA 23230. The entrance to the parking lot is round the corner on Robin Hood Road. VCDL will be running shuttle buses from the Diamond to 9th and Broad Streets from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Shuttle bus and parking are free, but if you want to make a donation to help cover the cost you can donate online by going to vcdl.org/donate.

Check out this GRTC website that addresses street closures.
Lobby Day Road Closures and GRTC Detours | GRTC
I understand entry into the capital grounds will only through one gate located on 9th Street and Grace Street. The buses will unload on Broad Street near 9th Street. Come early.

Don't expect that the public relations firms for these gun grabbers, aka the news media, will give this much, if any coverage.
If 50 moms showed up demanding tyranny they would be all over it, orchestrating camera angles to make the gathering look huge.

Any members west of Richmond who want to pool up somewhere, yell out.
There should be plenty of parking at the Diamond, but there’s also car pool parking on about every I-64 exchange.

One last thing. I love the NRA. Been a member for decades and always will be. Could they be better? Yep. And I’m sure they think we could be, too.
I hope they take note as to how the VCDL have organized this, right down to free parking and shuttles.
I’m with them for life now also.
Make it as easy as possible to get the most people to attend...on a Monday.

Email from GOA stated that they, and the VCDL, were going to court to seek an injunction against Northrams “state of emergency” dictate.
Doubt if it goes anywhere but at least someone is trying something.

That’s good. It was said that the emergency order only applies to assembly buildings and not the Capitol in general.
I’m NOT a lawyer
Checked the weather. It will be cold but dry. Great for the powder!
( It was a joke!)

Jessie, check VCDL's website to see if there is a bus in your area. It has a list of a lot of cities where buses will be available.

Based on the update from VCDL this morning:
SB35, which guts state pre-emption, was passed by the senate on a strictly party line vote.
SB 69, which re-instates the one handgun purchase per month limit, passed the senate on a strictly party line vote.
SB70, which creates a universal background check system, passed with the help of two Republicans, Senators Dunnavant and Hanger being the two who jumped sides.
These three bills will now go to the House, my guess is that they will be passed and then on to the governor who is eager to sign.
SB240, which is the proposed red flag law, is stalled and was not voted on. Either support has dried up or there is some issue with the wording or content of the bill.

Northam and those schemers in the MSM are obviously in cahoots together. I mean, right after the governor bans guns on capitol grounds because of "credible threats", the feds arrest these three guys? It's obvious, right? You just can't mark stuff like this down as mere coincidence. I mean, you just can't.

As Virginia goes so goes the Republic.
Every Democrat State will follow suit.
If not now when?
