Exclamation BAWN Stopped for Now

Florida Supreme Court Says No To AWB Ballot Item -

Florida supreme court rules 4 to 1 against placing an amendment to ban semi-auto rifles, shotguns and hand guns that have over 10 round capacity.

Too bad for Fred, David and Ted Floridians are safe from gun grabs, for now.

Even though this is good news, it's not gonna stop "them" by trying to add it to the State Constitution is way for them to bypass the Federal 2nd amendment,

But the reason is due to poorly written. Not that they were defending gun rights.

Here, the ballot summary fails to satisfy the requirements of section
101.161(1) and is affirmatively misleading because the meaning of the text of the ballot summary does not accurately describe the meaning of the Initiative’s text regarding the exemption.
Specifically, the next to last sentence of the ballot summary informs voters
that the Initiative “[e]xempts and requires registration of assault weapons lawfully possessed prior to this provision’s effective date” (emphasis added), when in fact the Initiative does no such thing. Contrary to the ballot summary, the Initiative’s text exempts only “the person’s,” meaning the current owner’s, possession of that assault weapon.
They go on to add:
While the ballot summary purports to exempt registered assault
weapons lawfully possessed prior to the Initiative’s effective date, the Initiative does not categorically exempt the assault weapon, only the current owner’s possession of that assault weapon. The ballot summary is therefore affirmatively misleading.

"They" operate like pneumatic grinders. "We" hear the noise and mostly discount the minute particles they remove with each pass. When it's "down to the nubs" (UK, Canada, Australia) folks exclaim: "How'd we get here!?!" Joe

Death buy a thousand cuts, it is really a very sneaky way to bypass the 2nd amendment. Put something on the ballot during elections, "Oh that looks good, lets ban guns", And there you have it.

The good news from this is they have to start over. Already collected signatures are null and void.

Recent changes in the law make it more difficult to collect (buy) signatures for the next attempt.

Make no mistake, though, there will be another attempt. This is only one battle in the war.

With all of the gun sales the past month I don't see any problems from the gun grabbing crowd. We must stay on top of it though.

I fear that we are about to see what the second amendment was really about. Glad that Florida has, at least momentarily, come to its senses.

That's good news but it is also a wake up for Floridian gun owners to join the NRA and start paying better attention who they vote for.

Excessive legislative, taxation and regulatory abuse is why this native Floridian moved out of Florida. My Family came to St. Augustine in the 1560s. It was a wonderful place until it was ruined.

Don’t forget NZ. They went from something resembling our 2nd Amendment to Nazi Germany nearly overnight.

We all know this is true.
The ideal for these people is to never allow any person a firearm, even LEOs.
