Here's a pic of my police marked .38 Special, 4" M&P revolver shipped to Melrose, Massachusetts Police Department in December, 1930:

When I got it, it had a set of 1960's vintage PC Magnas, now it sports a correct set of grips courtesy of forum member "1911" (Thanks, Gary). I always like to find a unit patch to go along with my police marked revolvers.

This revolver is in good shape, probably 85% finish, with some odd brown staining (blood?) on one side of the barrel, like a cop used it to bash a felon over the head with it.

It is marked "M.P.D.7" on the rear grip frame. The Smith and Wesson letter revealed it was shipped with two other revolvers, marked M.P.D. 6,7 and 8. Cost was $20.37 each. It shoots great, sights are regulated dead on, deadly accurate.
