Yep, I think that they're Ropers and nice ones.

The design of the Ropers is pretty distinctive, as is the small square "jig" hole on the inside.

The wood that they used usually lacks any figure or distinctive grain and the actual carving is a little coarse on the Ropers.

We all love and covet them, however, the materials and execution of the patterns is found lacking when they are compared with the work of folks like Keith Brown and a few others.
