This is the way your 24 left the factory!

The recall mentioned above was for the stainless steel guns(mod 624) only. The grips are N frame round butt "combats". The holster was made by S&W and was the only holster on the market at that time for the N frame 3" guns. These guns were special ordered by Lew Horton in 1983 and it was the first time S&W made the N frame with a round butt and/or 3" barrel. It was said "they won't sell", within 6 months they were all gone and Lew Horton placed an order for the 29 in the same configuration! I have seen these guns in the type box pictured above, which is numbered to my gun, and the one piece fold over type box. You will be able to find the grips but they are a bit pricey($150+) but the holster is hard to find.
