Thanks for the replies gentleman,

It seems the “blotching” was an error on my part. To get the grease off of the pistol, I used Hoppes #9 when I cleaned her up. After reading the replies, I went at her with some Flitz and it polished out nice….the pistol now looks much better and as it should.
