And it makes absolutely no sense! I owned a couple of Model-28s in the early 70s and actually went through the academy with a six inch version. GSP carried them at that time. They were just a cheaper, utilitarian Law Enforcement version of the Model-27. I owned a very nice six-inch nickel Model 27, one of those I should have never let get away, and there was absolutely no comparison in out of the box exterior fit and finish, as well as the superior trigger of the 27. Cult status is the only thing to explain what the 28s are bringing. I can buy early versions of the Colt Trooper .357 cheaper than a 28. I passed up two good Troopers this year at $350 in excellent condition.
