I use one all the time. I can carry my Sig .45, a spare mag, my creds, badge, and a pen and notebook. I clip my Blackberry to the strap and I'm good to go. As has been previously noted, the whole "screams gun" thing is overblown. I'm sure you could wear a black nylon fanny pack, a 5.11 vest, 5.11 tactical pants, a Glock hat, and a Thunder Ranch T-shirt and 99.99% of the population would have no more clue that you're carrying a gun than if you were wearing an Obama 08 shirt and Earth Shoes (remember those?).

Also, I don't mind being out of date, and at my age and weight if someone thought I was light in the loafers I'd take it as a compliment.
