Default SPF! New 8-shot 27 cylinder

Good morning,

Sold pending funds! I bought this from Numrich a couple months back for a project that I have since had to abandon. This is a S&W factory 8-shot cylinder (nickle) and extractor (no rod, pin, spring) for a 27, .357 mag with chamfered chamber mouths and cut for full moon clips. I am pretty sure that this would have been for one of the Lew Horton Performance Center 27-8s, not a 627 as Numrich has it listed. Here is the page that I ordered it from.

$90 shipped via Priority Mail to US addresses.

Thanks,
Danny

Is the cylinder nickel or in the white?

Being stainless I'd say it's in the White. Just my opinion .

Sorry for the delay in responding. It was advertised as a nickel finish. Based on prior experience with Numrich I assumed that it was actually bright polished stainless steel, but it does look like nickel, so I am not 100% sure what it is.

Here is the page that I ordered it from.

Thanks,
Danny

My bad, should have read the discription better, being a 627 figured it would be stainless.

You didn't miss it. I just went back and updated the original post with all the information that I know about it to make it as clear as I can. Despite what Numrich called it I think that it was actually a 27 cylinder for a Lew Horton Performance Center nickel 8-shot 27-8. I never knew that they made those until just a minute ago when I did some searching online.

Thank you for the info Danny. I would buy it if it was Stainless or even if in the white carbon steel. The last one of these I saw (and bought) was advertised as 627 but polished nickel as well--thus my question. The Numrich page you supplied (thank you) adds to the confusion saying 627 (stainless) but states polished nickel. The 8-shot nickel was actually for the 27-8 series.

Does this mean you can use a 8-shot cylinder in a 27/28?
