In order to have some made for myself, I had to meet a large minimum. That means I can spare at least 20 sets, probably more.
These are very good copies but are not meant to fool anyone. They are the same diameter and thickness as the originals that were used in N frames and a few K frames from circa 1936 to WW2.
But: The relief is a little deeper than originals. The font is slightly bolder. The stars larger. These are bright nickel. I believe the originals were chrome. By burnishing these with steel wool or scotchbright pads, they will look even closer to the originals if that's the look you are going for. These would look great on any pre or post war Smith.
The backs are smooth and meant to be glued in. They can be installed using a 1/2" Forstner drill bit. If you need to use these with a rear washer, I would recommend countersinking a rivet to hold the rear washer on first, then gluing the medallion in on top of it. A suitable rivet can be made using an aluminum roofing-type nail.
Price is $22/set of 2 medallions, mailed USPS.
Cash, check, money order, Paypal (cgt4570 at Hotmail . com), even possible trades (pre-war grips or unusual parts). If you want several sets, I can do a little better on the price. PM me.
