Edited to add-
HEY!! This stuff is FOR SALE! If you think I'm too high, make an offer via PM.
I won't take offense.
It has occurred to me that at my age and health level I should start selling off some of the S&W stuff I have accumulated over the years. Some of these items are from my dealer inventory, but many will be from my personal stash. Some will be scarce items you won't see very often.
I'll add items when I have time, so check back often.
I accept:
USPS Money Orders. NO other Money Orders.
Certified or Cashier's Checks
Paypal
Personal checks if you don't mind waiting for them to clear. If you are an SWCA member or I know you, there is no delay on personal checks. If mailing payment, include a note stating what you bought.
All prices include shipping and Insurance. TELL ME if you want a signature required if $500 or below. Above $500 a signature is automatically required.
I do not ship items without insurance.
I offer the normal right to return if not satisfied as long as condition remains the same. Return shipping is on you unless I omitted critical data. Inform me within 24 hours of receipt of acceptance or rejection.
I reserve the right to abstain from doing business with anyone I desire to abstain from doing business with.
Ask questions and make offers via PM. I will not be online constantly, so "I'll take it" trumps offers made via PM, even if the offer is made before the "I'll take it" is posted. Post "I'll take ____" including item number and send me a PM to handle details.

6. SOLD N Frame Pre-War Magnas. This very early set is among the finest I have ever seen. They never had a number and have not been used. Till I acquired them many years ago, they had never been on a gun. Notice they do not have the patent dates on the circles. I believe they are some of the earliest made, and have a very low gloss satin finish that is original. I bought them quite a while back from a man in his 80s that had found them in a drawer while cleaning out the house of his older, deceased friend! There is a tiny sliver off the right horn, and a tiny ding near the right toe. See the pics.

28. SOLD S&W Limited Edition Dress Belt Buckle SET. Set of 3 Buckles for the 135th Anniversary in 1987. Only 1000 of each buckle were made and they were sold individually. All three of these are # 273. They are gold plated. In my opinion, these are the classiest buckles they ever made. These are for Dress Belts. Belt Loop is 1-3/8" wide. The buckles measure app. 2-3/8" X 1-13/16". The quarter is shown for size comparison. Quarter not included. Buckles are fine, boxes are solid. The clear tops are darkening with age. Some Data on Pearl Grips: First, they are hard to photograph. They never look the same in pics as they do in hand. It is alomost impossible to capture the depth, swirls, and iridescence of the mother of pearl. In short, they always look better than the pics! Some pearl grips acquire a slightly yellow tint as they age. Most of that yellowing is on the surface- probably caused by gun oil, and the oil and acids and salt in the hands that have held them. Much of that yellowing can be polished off with super fine abrasives in the 1000-1200 grit range, or even with polishes like Wenol Red and probably Flitz. This is not heresay because I have done it.
Some yellowing appears to occur internally on some pearls. It happens in the softer, "pulpier" layers of the nacre- the layers that look the cloudiest when you look at pearls. I assume light exposure may cause some of it, or perhaps it is just age.
If grips have yellowed at all, they will appear yellower in the pics that they will in your hand. Oftentimes you will see yellow in the pics, but none when in hand. Nacre is built up in layers only a few thousandths thick. It can flake along those layers. Pearl grips can never have the tight fit that wood grips have. If they did, they would chip, flake, or break at the top circles against the frame, or shatter at the bottom pin. It is a somewhat brittle substance. The looser fit causes pearls to wiggle to some degree sometimes. Over tightening the screw to prevent the wiggle can obviously break them. So, the oldtimers had a few tricks to belay that movement. I have removed pearl grips from really old guns and found newspaper or brown paper (paper sack?) cut to exactly the shape of the grip sandwiched between the grip and the frame. Another trick I've observed is a layer of beeswax on the gripstraps to cushion the pearls and prevent the wiggle. This is an excellent remedy that protects the gun and the grips. I've also seen heavy grease used, but the wax is a better choice, IMO.
