SOLD
Early 1990s, per the dealer I bought it from, carbon steel Randall Model 2, Fighting Stiletto. Eight inch blade. $600, shipped.
This is a highly versatile knife. (If preparing a picnic, can be used to make peanut butter 'n jelly or tuna salad sandwiches in the kitchen. On the picnic itself, if stalked, say, by a mountain lion or rabid wolf pack, gives one a feeling of being prepared to defend one's self in the wild against all comers. Plunge this baby into a cougar's chest, for example, well, that feline will have second thoughts about his dinner choice, guaranteed!)
In a more serious vein, in my reading about Randalls, the Model 2 was the second knife designed by Bo Randall, and came out during WWII. He intended it to be a sturdier version of the famed Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife. (The double edged dagger, however, has been around since ancient Egypt, if not before.)
When I bought the knife it had carbon spots which I could not remove so I sent it back to Randall for refurbishing.

This resulted in discernible sharpening marks if the light is right and the knife is held at just the right angle. Took some trial and error to photograph:
For your consideration.
