Default Federal 125 gr Nyclad Velocities

I recently chronographed some of the 125 Nyclads. These were from the 50 round boxes sold a couple of months ago by Ammotogo. The measurements were at 10' without correction to actual muzzle velocity. The velocities are 5 shot averages.

S&W mod 36, 1-7/8" 847 fps SD 24 ES 65

S&W mod 36, 3" 930 fps SD 12 ES 30

S&W mod 10, 4" 967 fps SD 11 ES 25

I've seen several posts questioning the barrel length used with Federal's published velocity of 830 fps. Maybe this will answer that question:

That's great info, thanks. It's always good to see the results of actual testing. I have some of the earlier Nyclad 125 +P and 158 +P that I'll be testing when I do the Old versus New .38 Special comparisons, and will post the results here.

Cool post! Good work, and very cool! I always appreciate how we can learn so much here by contributing our own little piece of the puzzle by submitting our own test results. The old fifty fps./per inch rule holds true.
