I ordered a case of .22 Short today.
Since .22 LR is non-existent, and most of my guns can accommodate shorts anyway (and can get more of them in the magazine ) and finally got two boxes of Aguila to try before I ordered them.

They shot no different from their Winchester counterparts- no dirtier, no feeding problems, and they shoot to the same point of impact.

I didn't think the price was too bad, either.

While I don't really like to shoot them, I too bought a couple of bricks of them in the late winter this year. One of our gun show partners had 2 bricks and she wanted $5 each. Too good to turn down, but she felt $10 was easier to carry than 7# of ammo. I have no idea what I'll do with them, but in today's market, its probably worth more than what I paid.

What this ammo shortage is doing is bringing all the odd ball ammo out of the closets and basements. I assume the .22 shorts have adequate penetration to make a hole in the standard target paper. Once its completed that task, I guess I don't need AP rimfire ammo...

I use 22 shorts for hunting squirrel. Out of a rifle they sound a lot like an air rifle.

Same here. As well as the local farm supply store. I don't shoot anything else.

Well, lets just say I have some .22LR ammunition.
Unfortunately, the economy of shooting it isn't all the good right now.

Plus, I have two guns, a Model 90 Winchester and a Bernadelli pistol that are dedicated .22 Short only.

Besides, the rest of my .22's will shoot them, and that's what I started out squirrel hunting with years ago. I've been meaning to get some, and thought...

Which, at $18.69 a brick I doubt it will.

Eric, I bought a few bricks of the 550rd. packs at the mart before the craziness. They haven't had any in of that flavor displayed on the shelf since last October- but they do have the expensive stuff occasionally on shelf, and you can pick up the value packs at the gun show or a couple of the local dealer's places (I'm told) for $30 a brick. I think someone is buying them out when they come in, but I could be wrong.

The price tag on the shelf of the mart store for the value packs is still $14.97 here, and the guy said he was getting it, but it sells out in the morning before it makes it to the shelf. I wonder who to...
