"Quiet" .22lr Ammo
J&G Sales advertising some 50gr .22lr ammo as "urban ammo". Is there really a difference? Asked this question in a thread on suppressors in the Lounge also.

The only true "quiet" ammo I know of and use is the Aguila Colibri or Super Colibri. I've killed possums and squirrels with both and fired both out of rifles or pistols and you just have to hand cycle the bolts.

I equate urban shooting with a visit from the local constabulary.
If the area is that built up, you shouldn't be discharging any firearm.Use a pellet gun if you must.
To answer your question,I see that Remington has introduced a CB 22lr round.

i shoot the colibri 20gr primer fired 22's in my pistols. these can't be used in rifles though cause it's not enough propellant to get the proj out of the longer barrels. you need the super colibri for rifles. i shoot these all the time, at home, in a very populated area. don't expect the action in semi-auto's to function. the colibri's are about 300fps and the super's are about 500fps.

You can use either the Aquuilla Colibri or Super Colibri or either CCI or Remimngton 22 Long CB caps. The CB caps are a bit louder about that of an air rifle.

The CCI CB Long is very quiet, out of a rifle the fireing pin click makes more noise than the report.
