Federal HST......imo, the best ever!!
Wow! I'm speaking of the Federal HST 230gr 45ACP......I have NEVER seen ammo that expands so perfectly, retains 100% of weight AND penetrates 12" or more every time. This ammunition is completely sick. Did some home tests with it along with Speer Gold Dot, Corbon, & Winchester into water jugs and phone books (I know....pretty crude testing process) But, nonetheless, the HST penetrated deeper with a PERFECT flower expansion the size of a quarter. Personally, I think my department needs to get off the Gold Dot bandwagon & get HST.............real soon.
as a side note......the only reason I did this testing was because I didn't believe the pics I was seeing online of this stuff. And unless you are shooting it into metal, it expands just as pictured on the net.......unbelievable!

Good info. I just got a couple boxes in .40 and haven't had the chance to try it out vs. my Win. SXT yet. The bullets themselves look impressive, no doubt they'll expand every bit of what they claim.

I only ever hear good things about HST. I have no experience with the stuff in any way, shape, or form, but know the stuff is good. That said, if the Gold Dots are working well, I wouldn't switch. That raises a question. What about the Gold Dots don't you like?

Is the stuff made in 9X19?

Gold Dots are great. HST is excellent! They flower more perfectly than ANY ammo I have ever seen used in tests.

Yes they do!! Check out AmmunitionToGo. I have got it from them in the past(just got my last order delivered today ). They make it in 124 gr. and 147 gr. I have some of each. Their prices on it are unreal too. Like $24 for 50 rounds. GREAT ammo.
Just checked their website, and they are sold out of the 9mm right now. They do have some in stock for 40 though. Check it out...

Thanks for that link AJ!
A question for you, or anyone else that might know.
Being this is the first time I'm trying ATG, while attempting an online order I was unable to get the order form to take more than a count of "1" for quantity? I was hoping to save at least a portion of the $8+ per box shipping if done one at a time.
I've got an E mail into them asking about it.
If anyone has any insights on this, I'd love to learn more!
Thanks again AJ! I hope to clear up the shipping question shortly.

You have to manually input the amount then hit the pink/purple "Update" button.
I've had a great experience with ATG, currently have a shipment on the way. Dang holiday delay.....

Like Rich said, once you add the item to your cart, you will see a "1" under quantity. You can erase that and put whatever number you desire, and then click update.
I also have had great experiences with ATG. I usually order about 200 dollars or 7-8 boxes of ammo at a time, and shipping is usually about $12. Cheaper than the tax would be, with ammo that is 30-50% less to begin with.

Excellent thread posted by Molon at arfcom.
Chronograph Data for 9mm Luger LE Loads (part 1) - AR15.COM
If you're familiar with Molon's posts, you'll recognize the quality. If you aren't familiar, get ready to be impressed.
I personally carry 124 grain HSTs in my Glock 17 on duty. I've never had to use them but I feel safe having 52 of them at my immediate disposal.
Regards,
Scott
