Default S & W Ammo

I recently acquired a small quantity of S & W 38 Special +P ammunition with 90 grain projectiles.
Does anyone have any data on this round?
Thanks.

Those appear to be from the ammo brochure used thru 1978, when testing was done in unvented test barrels, not real guns. The copies of that brochure I have actually states that. In 1979 a new brochure was produced, and in it S&W used real handguns to test the ammo, and the velocities dropped significantly, in many cases over 20%.

In the 1979 ammo brochure it gives velocities out of 2", 4", and 6" Model 10's for the .38 Special. Soon, when I have time, I'll post side by side comparions from the two brochures, and it becomes obvious what a significant difference it made went they (along with the rest of the industry) moved from test barrels to real guns.
