Default WWB 38sp +P 125gr jhp ?

This any good? Groups well in my 64 4" any good as defensive load to carry in the field for a yote, dog, angry beaver or unfriendly human? Just curious on your thoughts I am sure theres a better choice buts its what I currently have.

Take it easy.

Even though I'm up to my lower lip in reloaded .38 Special & .357 stuff, and that loading wouldn't necessarily be my first choice?
I still buy a box of it anytime I see it @Wally's. IIRC, it was $19 a hundred the last time ours had any (4 months ago). It sure beats pointing your index finger and yelling "bang" at someone! Besides someday it may be your only ammo, especially if you don't reload?

There are better loads (just read the multiple .38 spl. threads that have been active in the last month as to what many of us think they are), but those will work, and one could do worse.

We tested this in gelatin a couple of years ago, was a much better round through the heavy clothing test than I would have expected, expands and penetrates decently from my 642 2". It's not the 135gr Gold Dot, but I'd carry it if I couldn't get DPX or Gold Dot, especially if it shot to my sights from a fixed sighted gun.

It ain't the arrow, it's the indian......in other words, putting the rounds where they count is a lot more important than what the round is....use what shoots well, reliably, and to the point of aim. Good hits with poor bullets are a LOT better than marginal hits with the latest laser bonded, solid core, hydrostatic, computer designed bullet that comes to the market...
I have seen a boxcar full of people shot.....good hits stop, bad hits don't....good hits kill, bad hits don't....
