Default DCI Ammo

I picked up a M 29-2 recently & the deal included 3 boxes of reloads marked "DCI". The box indicates they are "240 LSWCHC". What does the "HC" represent?
Does anyone have any info on this ammo? Is it safe to use? Reliable? Accurate? Messy? ETC?
Thanks
Bob

Hollow cavity? Are they hollow points? Are they commercial reloads or do they look like something loaded in someone's kitchen? If they look commercial, I would try them. If not, I personally would pitch them or pull them.

Default DCI Ammo

They are commercial reloads. The box has a printed label as follows:

50 Metallic Cartridges
DCI
"Supplying quality cartridges to law enforcement and the sportsman alike".

I beleive DCI is the brand name.

The bullets are solid flat nosed. I would call them:
Lead Semi Wadcutter H(?) C(?)

HC might stand for Hard Cast. Unless it did mean Hollow Cavity and has been reloaded again? Always a question when ammo isn't known to be factory loaded or you handloaded yourself, proceed with caution. Greg

Talking Handloads are like underware,

be careful where you get it. I don't recognise the DCI brand so have no specific comments on it. I would expect HC to be hollow cavity and the brass has been loaded again with LSWC bullets.

Could the source possibly be:
DCI Ammunition Sales, Address: 191 W. Shaw Avenue, Suite 205-A., Fresno, CA 93704, Phone 559-243-0117 Fax 559-243-0126

I turned this up with a Google search.

I found this old thread when I Googled DCI Ammunition. Decided to bump it back up rather than start a new thread. I have a box of 50 in .45 Colt. Got it at a gun show. End flaps of white cardboard box is stamped:

45 Colt
250 XTP
New Ammo.

Address on box is Mahopac, N.Y. (914) 621-5857. Brass is W-W and has the red dye around the primers. Appears as new ammo. I intend to shoot this in a Ruger Vaquero Convertible. Are there any concerns with using this ammo in that gun? Box reads "Supplying quality cartridges to law enforcement and the sportsman alike". Anybody have any familiarity with DCI ammo?

Over the last few years with the shortage of ammo, there have been a bunch of start up ammo company's jumping into the game. Obviously this is a broad statement and I'm sure some are better than others, but personally I will use only the big 3 ammo company's products for self defense and my own reloads for Range time. IMHO there is just not enough known about the new start up Co's products and the Big Three make enough great products that I don't want to experiment with the unknown right now. As far as target range stuff - obviously not as critical, but I question if you would save any money anyway. Availability - maybe better.

Reliability, performance and consistency is key!

chief38, I'm not sure on the age of the one box that I bought. I may call the phone number on the box later just to see if they are still around. If I do, I will post the results here. I'm guessing they are long gone, as my Google search didn't turn much up about them.
