Plenty of .45ACP at Walmart
. . . . . . . . at least at the last two or three stores I have been to. For about two months now there has been at least some .45 ACP, if only a couple of boxes of 50. For the most part, though, there have been both WWB 100 packs and the Rem UMC 250 packs. Two weeks ago I passed on 100 packs in the WM in Americus, GA because I was in a big hurry, and didn't have time to wait the 10-15 minutes it generally takes to get someone there with a key. They had probably five boxes in the case. Yesterday I bought two 100 packs at the WM on Eisenhower Parkway in MaconGa. They had probably six of the 100 packs and a couple of the 250 UMC packs. This particular WM has had plenty of .45ACP each time I was there for close to three months.
The price figures, with tax, to just a smidgen under 35 cents a round. I believe the receipt yesterday was $69.90 for the 200 rounds. I figure I can either reload the brass (I don't currently reload .45ACP) or sell the brass for at least $50 per thousand.
I am currently "double-dipping"--I'm still drawing (through Sept.) my salary check, plus my retirement check, so I will buy more ammo for at least one more month. Hopefully, as soon as this heat wave breaks, I can start burning some of it.

I don't know how good it is, but Cabelas has some .45 called MFS for $14.99 a box online and $5 shipping. There are mixed reviews, but it might be worth a gamble at that price.

About 10 years ago I bought a 600 round case of it. It was 180 gr. FMJ and I had no complaints with it,out of my Colt and Springfield. Also these days that is a decent price.

A Walmart in North Dallas had 100 boxes of Fed 45acp 50ct Sat morning - $15.97+tax.
Unbeliveable amount of 45acp for one Walmart.
The clerk only have 20 boxes in the shelf and the rest were in the back.

My local Walmart is now carrying ammo on a consistent basis. The other day they stocked on 9mm UMC 250 count for $51, along with 50 counts of 44, 380, 25, 45, 40 and many others.
At least for now, the shortage has stopped at least in my city. However, it would take one action by the DETESTABLE Attorney General, Eric Holder, to place a horrendous tax on ammo that would once again lead to a shortage.
To the dumb liberals in Congress, I will continue to cling to my religion and guns while you sip your lattes at Starbucks.

Yeah, my local WM has .45 ACP in good supply and, wonder of wonders, stacks and stacks of 9mm!
This is the first I've seen 9mm appear in quantity and stay in stock. (Before, guys would come in with their girlfriends to get around the limits.)
Prices do seem to be staying stubbornly high, but if you don't have as much ammo as you "need" right now, you are sleepwalking.

Found a good quantity in local WM including 9mm, 38+p, 357 mag, .40, 45acp and even 400 rds. of WWB .380 on Monday. They said shipments are becoming larger and more frequent.

Yeah, may be rounding the corner on the shortage, finally. But here in California I have heard we are approaching a new ammo law. Among other things it will bar mail order ammo, and require thumb print for purchase. If true I expect another run on ammo at end of this year before the law kicks in (Feb I believe) Singin' the left coast blues.

The Wal-mart south of Lexington has plenty of everything BUT 45ACP. I stopped by the sporting goods dept. The shelves are full of everything else and overflowing BUT no 45ACP. Havent had any in close to 6 months.

LuckyGunner.com sells .45 ammo by PMC, Armscor, Magtech, Lawman, American Eagel and Fiochi in 1,000 round lots ranging in price from $395.00 to $475.00. I ordered a 1,000 rounds of the Magtech and so far have put 300 rounds through my S&W 4553 Tactical without a misfire.

Well sadly this trend hasn't reached Florida, I went to 4 Wal-Marts after reading this thread and the only word to describe Wal-Marts ammo stock in this area is PATHETIC I couldn't even get 38spl.

I agree; the WalMarts here in NW Florida have a little of just about everything except .45 ACP.

I stopped at Walmart to load up on .45s and 9mm and found that there was box and box of .45s but only one box of 9mm. Needless to say my 9mms didn't get shot that much
