The 885 green tip is the round that is causing all the problems for its lack of knock down power. The round penetrates, and does not fragment, or break up. I makes a little hole going in and a little hole coming out and causes little damage in between. The newer heavy 75-77 gr rounds tend to break up or fragment and cause a lot more damage. The 55 gr Viet Nam era round also tended to break up, and caused a lot of soft tissue damage. In my limited experience it certainly stopped any VC/NVA that sustained a solid torso hit. At least I never observed any that got up and kept on running.
