Default Question regarding Sigs 357 sig ammo

Just wondering if anyone has tried it (the JHP variety), if so your likes and or dislikes and pros and cons. I found some for what seems to be a fairly decent price and thought I would give it a try.

Do they shoot. Yes most do just fine. O say most because I don't know every single manufacturer of 357 Sig ammo.

They are all modern guns and modern guns are designed to function with HP

Just wondering if they were on a par with Federal HST and Speer Gold Dot. Also if anyone is using as a SD round?

If which are on par with Gold Dot/HST?

Those two brands are considered some of the best performing ammo. I would stick with them.

When I had a 357 Sig I used Gold Dots. For 9 and 40 I use Gold Dots

The few reviews I've read all pointed to it being mediocre. I'd stick with what has a proven track record and that's GD and HST

+1 on Underwood ammunition. Their .357 Sig load with the Speer 125 grain bonded hollow points is very strong and an amazing choice for self defense. Their FMJ or Extreme Penetrator cartridges are excellent in the field.

As for Sig Sauer ammo; I've used it in some calibers and I find it to be middle-of-the-road. The .380 cartridges didn't feed well at all and the hollow point hung up on the feedramp occasionally.

Bullet set-back with decently made ammunition is only a factor if you load and unload your pistol frequently without rotating what cartridge goes in the chamber. Those bottlenecked cartridges feed into that funnel-shaped chamber beautifully...and more reliably than straight-walled varieties. In the twelve years that I have owned .357 Sig pistols, I've never had a failure...of any kind.
