Default Sellier & Bellot Ammo

Judging from some of the posts I've read, it looks like a lot of people have been having problems with Sellier & Bellot Ammo. I purchased two boxes of .38 special ammo (different lot numbers) and have had problems with the bullets pulling out of the cases from recoil. I was going to recrimp the remaining rounds and use them, but now I'm wondering if that would be safe. Thoughts anyone?

What I would do is crimp two or three rounds and subsequently fire them. If you have ANY signs of over pressure STOP! If not then I surmise it would be safe to crimp the remaining rounds. European ammunition IS NOT loaded to SAAMI protocol, pressures; it is loaded to CIP protocol/standards, and is somewhat "HOTTER" (i.e +- 5%). This DOES NOT mean that it is unsafe to shoot.

FWIW, I have been shooting Sellier & Belot® FMJ loads in 38 Special, and 357 Magnum at the range since 1996 w/o any problems; or signs of over pressure. I have not had to crimp any S&B ammunition. I did however experience the problems you cite with Aguila® 38 Special ammunition. Crimping those rounds solved the problem, w/o any signs of over pressure.
