Not sure what you want to know?

I buy older ammo boxes (with or without) ammo when I can get it cheap. A lot of time the ammo in the box is reloads.

Not sure what you want to do with it. I use mine with my gun photos.

You should probably do a search on completed auctions on gunbroker to see if you have anything specal. I've sold some ammo on GB that was worth some $$, but had probably only paid a few bucks for.

This website has a lot of good info.

Only two things I could really say:

1) Any of those boxes with original ammunition is more valuable as a collectible than as shooting ammo.

2) Per the above, do not open or handle the boxes or ammunition any more than you must, particularly the boxes.

I am not a collector but those who are freak out over some of the most seemingly insignificant things, and it makes a real difference in value to them.

Default Guessing but....

That 6.5 looks like 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser ammo boxed up for Italy?

The yellow Winchester Power Point ammo looks a lot like mid to late 60s ammo my Grandfather used in his .32 Winchester Mod 94 (wish I had that rifle)

Nice looking boxes and as said up thread, don't mess with the boxes too much.

Default Or.....

More likely 6.5x54 Mannlicher-Carcano ammo (what Oswald used to kill President Kennedy)

Question

I think the Krag ammo in one box may be very old
The headstamp on them is UMC QS 12
probably wrong but think it's 100 years old
The bullet is a FMJ round nose

The 2 boxes of Krag ammo date from around 1945 to 1950 and is probably the best of the lot as far as collector ammo is concerned. Most of what you have will sell for less than the price of a new box of comparable ammo. For instance, your 32-20 ammo is now close to $50 a box in my area and the ammo you have is selling for $20 to $30. Remember that ammo boxes are graded the same as collector guns and must be in mint condition to get the attention of the collectors.

Your decision on whether to shoot it or keep it, but most is less than 50 years old and not yet collectable. Having said that, if you keep anything long enough, it will gain value.

Thanks for the info glowe

I did find out about that one box of Krag ammo
The box isn't old but the ammo that was put in it is.
what I thought was QS was really 06 so it dates to Dec of 1906
That to me was very neat

A picture of the primers
