Angry CCI QC problems

Recently I have run into a problem with CCI .22LR SV ammo. On as many as 10% of the rounds there seems to be either excessive or uneven distribution of the wax on the bullet or the shell case. This causes complete FTF (the round is not stripped from the mag) or the round is not chambered completely and it becomes jammed in the chamber of my S&W model 41. Bummer! Besides being a royal pain, it could be dangerous if there is an out of battery detonation.

If you buy this ammo in the plastic boxes, you can detect some of the bad rounds by removing the top and turning the box upside down holding it so the plastic insert does not fall out. The "good" rounds will drop free and those with the excessive wax will not fall out.

I have made a sizing die from aluminum bar stock to strip the excess wax from the "bad" rounds. This seems to work, but it is still a pain.

I have sent CCI an email about this issue.
