Default Another Powerball

This type of Powerball would make you the loser if your on the receiving end of it.
These are the rounds that have the round nylon ball at the bullet tip. I should have chronographed a round, maybe tomorrow.
Not the most scientific test method but volunteers are hard to find.
This was a round of the Powerball 380 caliber fired from a Browning 1955 into water jugs at 10 feet. Made it into the third one and ended up in pieces as shown. I was not too impressed.
Personally I prefer Gold Dots.

I got a cylinderful of those 38 spl as part of a gun deal a while back, and was never even tempted to shoot them. . Ended up selling them along with a couple safariland speedloaders that were part of the same deal. I'll stick to my SWC-HP reloads, and reloading my j-frames one-at-a-time or with quick-strips.

A big hunk of Roast Beef will make a good test subject unless there is a Zombie or two hanging around instead...

I use the Gold Dots or SWCHP myself in my model 49.

I tried an identical expansion test with the Power Ball 25 ACP last year and the bullets recovered could be reloaded again as the only distortion was the rifling on the bullet.
I think you would really have to crank the velocity up well over 1,000 FPS
to have the Power Ball work.

"A big hunk of Roast Beef will make a good test subject " No way am I shooting my Arbie's sandwich.
