Default Anyone know anything about "Estate" ammo?

I visited the smallest LGS in the area the other day and the owner had around 400 rounds or so of this stuff in standard 38 Special, 130gr. FMJ. I have never heard of it. I'm considering buying a 50rd. box for helping some new shooters tomorrow(actually today -it's getting late). Any information on it would be helpful.

Thanks again, friends.
Andy

Andy, I do not know about the current stuff but my Father used to buy it in BULK and we shot it at the Fairfax Rod and Gun Club in the early to mid 70's with no issues. hope it is newer then that! Kyle

Estate is a division of ATK. I see their ammo in farm stores and hardware stores from time to time. They make shotgun and pistol ammo. Not sure if the make rifle ammo or not. Should be good stuff if ATK makes it.

I have shot many boxes of Estate 12 ga shotgun shells on the trap
range. My understanding is that Estate is a store brand name of Federal
ammo that is sold by the farm supply type chain stores. The 12 ga
loads I shot are just like Federal 1 oz cheap game loads, no problems.

The handgun ammo you find in Estate Cartridge boxes is just Federal Champion ammo. Nothing special.
