Herter's .223 Ammo
Any y'all had any experience with this ammo? Got a deal on it at Cabelas.com. Bought 200 rounds @ 5.99 ea for 20. I've heard this is just reboxed Tula. The AR eats that stuff up, hopefully the same with this. Thanks. BTW, mines a M&P 15T

Got a bunch from Cabela's when they had them with the ammo can, some as low as $4.49 for 20 and this was in mid to late December. They are as mentioned reboxed Tulammo which is stamped. My M&P Sport has no problem cycling this.

Actually, I'm fairly sure Herter's ammo is made by Sellier & Bellot for them so it's really Czech made, not Russian. It's not made by Tula from everything I've read.

Several people that I know have used Herters with no issues. I have a bunch of it, but have not used any yet.

Their bulk boxed brass-cased .223 is either Fiocchi (GFL headstamp) or S&B.

Cabela's doesn't even list it on their website now.

With the Russian ammo the only way to be sure of who made the ammo is by what's stamped on the case head.
Cabelas has jobbed-out their Herters brand ammo to numerous companies: Tula and Ulyanovsk of Russia, PT PINDAD of Indonesia (.380 only), Fiocchi of Italy, and now S&B of the Czech Republic and CCI in Idaho (Nyclad TNJ loads).
