Why is there a $9 surcharge for ammo orders at Gander Mn.

Because Gander Mountain is a rip-off, really... (at least the one by me is)

I've got no experience with Gander Mt. but last year when I got 1,200 rounds shipped from Cabela's there was an $8 charge that they said was to cover the heavy package charge.
Other places I've ordered from like Ammoman have had free shipping and no extra charge. Hard to figure.

Thanks for the update but I still can't bring myself to spend .37 a round for 9mm.
I hope the rest of you can hold out. I don't want to see the dealers getting used to charging this much. If prices lock in this high it is really going to change the shooting sports. I've seen much smaller turnouts at local matches and when I ask why they all say they can't afford to practice.

18.50 a box with no gas spent is ok for now. Thanks for the heads up by the way the surcharge is once per order. I think 9 dollar box of ammo is as gone as nickel dip ice cream. Detroit bankrupt every other major city not far behind. Printing money out of thin air has its price. Selling off all the gold has consequence. Hold out all you want. The ritch just got richer and the poor got poorer. Thanks again for the heads up.

Yeah I saw brown bear at Midway the other day under .30 per round in 9mm, (2 boxes of 50 per person) but prices are starting to drop finally.
