Thats about what it cost for a thousand rounds of Tula .223 about 6 months ago....

Less then a year ago, I picked up 5 thousand rounds of American Eagle 55 grn fmj at $299.00 per thousand from Natchez. My two favorite AR's like it, as does my TC single shot pistol, and I needed fresh brass..

Last time I looked, CTD was getting $900 per thousand for the same thing..

Larry

They could sell that stuff for a penny a round and I still wouldn't buy it. I don't run steel cased ammo in any of my guns.

CTD doesn't seem to feel guilt. Cynicist I am, They may simply be trying to win a little favor with the trade they may loose from their recent antics of profiteering. They lost me years ago. Also, supplies are slowly becoming available again, and they need to be somewhat competitive- again. The ammos still way too expensive, and it is still some of the lowest form of steel cased ****. I guess I can be more selective than some because I still have a significant stockpile of ammo and components.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the stuff that's gained notoriety for gunking up ARs with its polymer coating? I think I'll pass... Both in principle and for practical reasons.

Get the CTD flyer every so often. On ammo and ar stuff they do not show any prices. Just .... and that's it. Academy has a pretty good stock on hand but the popular ammo if it isn't sold gets sent to customer service. I found no 30-30 ammo at academy neither domestic or monarch. Wally world I gave up on a long time ago. Same bare shelves week in week out. I refuse to pay exorbitant prices or stand in line. Frank

CTD is the gouger that I measure other gougers by. If they went belly up tomorrow you would see no tears from my direction.

Guilt? CTD? Surely you jest! I think they may have begun to realize that they diddled the Doberman with their huge, unconscionable price jumps, and hope to win some suckers back. I don't think it will work very well.

I'm through with them.

I never bought anything from them, the name alone was a major turn off, usually when a company has economy, affordable or something like that as part of their name, I find that the complete opposite is more likely to be true.

This is the company that put out the statement that they were completely out of magazines.......then the minute things are right to gouge.......they turn the light back on with jacked-up prices and 'magazines in stock'.
No thanks. Rather have a slingshot than do business with them.

They aren't feeling guilty, they are feeling the pressure of the wrong they have done. They don't care about us at all, only their bottom line. They must be feeling the crunch or they would not lower prices. They can go straight to hell for all I care. If they were the last store on the planet I would do without rather than buy from them. Not one red cent, ever!

Problem is there are still people buying from them. Some have more money they are willing to part with, not me, I can wait till things get back to normal, been lucky enough to have bought items before there was a run on anything. My philosophy is buy a firearm buy extra mags at the same time. I usually buy at least 5 extra so that usually gives me 6, have this thing about odd numbers. Ammo I have plenty of but buy it as I see it at non gouger prices. Now I have slightly overpaid for some lately but not much. But then you have to decide weather to keep in case you need it or shoot it. I will keep for now and shoot the .177 and .22 pellet guns. P.S. CTD has been off my list as I consider them like GM overpriced before this happened. Items are still out there you just have to wait and be patient. Hech I got a C-Beta 100 round mag for what people are asking for the Korean knockoffs, brand new, just gotta look and wait.

Check out the comments they are getting on their Facebook page. They are getting the deserved backlash from their recent business practices.

I sent in an email to their customer service asking to be removed from their mailing list. I told them that their taking advantage of their customers during this time had not only cost them ME as a customer, but every single person I can possibly convince not to buy from them. Surprise! I got no response.

They are ripoffs. I just paid 16 bucks for the same 50 round box of PMC they are charging $59.59 for. My range and LGS both are selling the PMC for $16. Last week it was fiochhi. Week before that it was Blazer brass. Today they also had Hornaday CD.

Cheaper Than Dirt? A classic oxymoron.

Hopefully people will remember the gougers, preppers, flippers, etc. in the future. Although, I seriously doubt it. For some that weren't around the game in '08 I can understand. The freaking sheeple that contribute to the madness upset me to say it mildly. You are either part of the problem or part of the solution is my mantra.

Once upon a time I did business with CTD. But they lost me some years ago. I was placing an order only to discover the stuff was in 3 different warehouses and they wanted to charge me shipping for each one!
I deleted the order and never went back.

I just bought a couple of sleeping bags, holsters and three slings from CTD. Great prices and service, so I will continue to support them when I can.

I have never purchased ammo from them, either before or after the "crisis". In fact, I have not purchased ammo in at least a year.

Actually, I made a huge profit selling large quantities of 223 ammo during the height of the "crisis" by selling **** I no longer even wanted to fools who got into "panic mode" buying. A win-win situation, because I unloaded a bunch of unneeded stuff at an enormous markup, and the greedy ammo vultures got their itch scratched. Everyone's happy!
