Help ID'ing Green Tip Ammo
I have had this ammo for quite a while but would like help identifying it. Green tip, so I'm sure it is 62 grain penetrator, head stamped .223 and 5.56 with date of 83. The 20 round tan box is marked on a white label 20 Stuk (with a dash above the u) and 5.56 mm SC. I thought it was odd to be stamped .223 and 5.56 on the base. The spelling of round as Stuk could be a hint as to origin.

Thanks Chuck. That's good. The Germans make good ammo.

Another option is that 20 Stück translates to 20 Pieces. Maybe it's a play on words in German with the version with the dash above (and the c left out) meaning the company. The 20 in front of a company name doesn't make much sense.

20 pieces sounds correct. Also this stuff has a slightly sharper point than Lake City. It is very accurate ammunition though my older Colts (not SP1's).

Hadn't thought about that. German, Danish, Swedish, and Dutch have a lot of similar words (with minor spelling and pronunciation variations).
