Ammo companies
With all this reselling of ammo, just wondering why they have not put..................
"Not for resale" on all their boxes ? ( at least the .22 ammo )
It is against a lot of states laws without paying taxs on the profits, no getting proper permits, etc. etc.
Surprised the gun buffs and the IRS have not jumped onto this.

Taxes are paid when it is purchased from state registered business. I'm not sure how you regulate personal sales. The same issue could be applied to anything resold person to person (cars, electronics, etc). Guns are a different story since you cannot intentionally buy a firearm with the intent to resale it without an FFL. That was rampant the last 6 months. I even saw guys making videos on YouTube to sell rifles and no FFL.

Oh, so you think that we need more taxes, more gun control and more Big Government intervention in our lives just so you can buy some .22 ammo at decent retail prices?

I do not think you need any permits or licenses to sale commercial ammo. It is not reloaded. Ammo is so hard to find even those who are making a profit off of it probably can't even accumulate enough to make that much of a profit. They surely cannot get their hands on the amount of ammo Walmart of Academy Sports can

I am talking about reselling property owned. When you have to register your car, you are not selling it to the state. That is not the same as taxing sales outside a commercial business.

Actually, the Remington UMC Mega Pack .40S&W DOES post the "NOT FOR RESALE" message on the 50-round boxes inside.

Generally speaking when a package says "Not for resale" all that means is that particular package does not include all the required information on it that would be necessary for a retail sale - a barcode, a warning label, legally required product information, etc. It could be used even for promotional products. That label in no way restricts what you as a private citizen is allowed to do with that product. Individual rounds are not labeled at all (well, except for some limited case markings) and if you had a buyer you could sell one round at a time.

If we could just somehow get more government overview, permitting, regulation, and taxation into our society, everything would be better.

Nevada is way too close to California...things are starting to rub off on them...I hated it when Texas made Amazon start collecting state taxes...but if the current political climate had their way we would be paying a ton on taxes for ammo....look for that to happen in the future if things continue the way they are

IRS has much much better things to do than hassle a few guys making a few bucks. I suppose you charge sales tax if you ever sell anything on Craigslist, or have a garage sale?
The ammo resellers don't set the market price, the buyers do. You want it to stop, stop paying more than retail for ammo. If you did that, they wouldn't have a market.
Common sense is not longer common.

They arent all buying at hugely inflated prices. I just came back with another 550 brick of .22LR and barely paid $20. What is that like maybe .04 cents a round. IMO, thats not an outrageous off the wall price for today's market.

Even if they did put such nonsense on the box, most of us would pay as much attention as we do when Winchester, Remington and Federal puts "For LE use only" on their +P+ ammo, which is exactly NONE. If it is safe in THEIR firearms, and it is, then it is safe in MINE.

Maybe at the same time we could get some common sense laws banning smoking, limiting soda sizes, limiting salt in food, dictating what kind of light bulbs we can buy, the type of refrigerant our air conditioners use, bans on "clips" that hold more than six "bullets", etc, etc. If it saves just one child's life, it will have been worth it. Stop! Let me wipe the tears from me eyes.
Just Double You Tea If is it with the 22 ammo these days that gets so many panties twisted into a knot??? It's just 22 ammo!!! They will make more!

You ***-u-me that others are against "re-selling" ammo. It is private property. The owners have the right to do with it as they please.

It is rather irritating when I see CCI Standard Velocity being purchased for over $500 a case when it was $240-260 a year ago. Fortunately I have enough to hopefully last until this foolishness goes away. The best way to get the cost down is for people to quit buying it at the outrageous prices, at least stop buying every round they see unless they need it. The hoarders won't stop until supply catches up so I will continue waiting for the prices to stabilize again before buying.

The last gun show I attended had several resellers asking $194.00 for a brick of 1000 22lr. That is steep.

The people screwing up prices the most are new gun owners they buy a new gun not knowing the prices ammo should cost and buy ammo on Gunbroker for double or triple regular retail prices so they have ammo for there brand spanking new M&P 15-22.

Its the thrill of the hunt to visit 3 different Wally Worlds once a week to gamble if they have any ammo. Sometimes they do, sometimes they dont. At least my buddy and I get to have lunch, drink a few beers and laugh about the whole thing. Oh, and when we do score some .22's, they get donated to the local Boys Club and the Youth Conservation Program that promotes safe hunting and gun handling practices.
