I was starting to think that ammo prices were coming back into a normal range when I ran across this a few minutes ago. I thought it was a typo or a joke, but it is real.

Their claim is that they are a discount retail business but if they were depending on my business they would be out of business at those prices.

I bought 500 rounds of 9mm for less than that this morning. Still doesn't compare to the $1.00 per round that CTD was advertizing .22LR a few weeks back.

I had a friend pick up a box of this wednesday and he is trying to sell it for $55. I told him he is a dumbass and will never get that for it. He then lowers it to $50, then $40. To me even $40 is a bit too much. I wouldn't try to sell it over $35. It's retail is right around $25

I can do the 525 rd boxes for $199, how many do you want?

Welcome to our brave new world. This is the new reality, a couple of our local stores have gone to the dark side as well.

I have PLENTY of .22lr and most is at least 5-10 yrs old and can take pics of the price tags on them.... for under $8/525 rds for the junkie Rem Golds. I don't mean a mere 5K to 10K rounds......
A friend of mine asked me if I would sell him a box or two [last month]
and I could name the price. Being the old smartass my wife says I am, I said $100/ea.......he said give me 3 !!!! and he didn't even blink !!!!!
I DID NOT sell him any. Wife and I shoot with them regularly. His wife had a birthday on June 9th. I gave her a box.

CTD had those CCI 375 rnd boxes for 199.00 and must be selling them since the listing was gone and showed CCI 100 rnd boxes for 59.00 shortly after.
I would sell my guns before they get any of my money.

The new reality. This has been going on for about 8 months. The good old days are over.

The only 22 ammo I've seen locally has been CCI Standard Velocity for $40 a brick of 500 rounds.

I'm lucky enough to have a big stash of ammo, but was rather short of 40 Grn Standard Velocity. And I've got a Remington pump 121 that seems to only like the CCI Standard Velocity. I bought 3500 rounds and am thinking of going back for more. This from a guy who bought most of his 22 at 2 Cents a round.

Forget ammo deals at stores. Check your local forums and such instead. There are deals out there, you've just got to be patient and look for them. Here's a score I made the other day and this guy was nice enough to deliver right down the street from me, throw in 20 rounds of FMJ he found after listing his ad AND gave it all to me in one of those nice new .50 caliber-sized MTM ammo cans with desiccant packs inside at the listed price.
