CCI mini mags or Lapua Midas+
I can buy CCI mini mags for 59.95 per 100 from Cheaper than dirt or Lapua Midas+ for 15.75 per 50 from another supplier which makes more sense Good grief. On a more serious note I did shoot some Lapua Midas in my Rem 541-S and the rifle really shot well with it.

Personally I would get the Lapua, that's not a bad price on high grade target ammunition. I don't shoot high velocity rounds in my .22lr rifles as I find them inaccurate.

Yes, Get the Lapua rounds.
I'll personally never do business with CTD again after what
they have been pulling lately regarding pricing.

I just picked up five 100 round packs of 40 grain CCI Mini-Mags in 22LR from a LGS for $7.95 each. How CTD can charge the price they charge, is beyond gouging.

I agree, just picked up at LGS... 2- 100 round packs of cci mini mag for $7.99, 2- 50 round boxes .38 special (reload) wad cutters for $10.99 each, and 1 -50 round box of .40 S&W for $21.99....ammo in certain areas in Massachusetts is easing up slowly. Now if only they fixed the loops you need to hop through in order to buy ammo and firearms.

I was being a bit sarcastic, I should be more careful with posts. I am amazed at the whole ammo shortage thing and the way various retailers work. Anyway the sellers are free to ask what they want and we are free to buy or not. I just thought it was pretty funny that I could buy the Lapua for less than the mini mags.

Or "Cheaper Than Gold". I couldn't believe it when I saw them selling a box of Mini Mags for $49.95. Now you say it's up to $59.95. I got 4 boxes from Midway last week for less than that including shipping. Was very lucky. I just happened to be reading my e-mail when the "Items back in stock" notification came.

The Midas plus is certainly premium grade ammo and a 541 Remington should shoot well under one inch at 100 yards. In my 541 and my 1813 Anschutz it will on a calm day turn in 10 shot strings in the 5/8- 3/4 inch all day long.
Midas plus and Eley Tenex are my two favorites for 100 yards and 100 meter shoots......They simply perform with great monotony which is what I need to get in and stay in the winners circle of an outdoor prone match.

I just bought a box of 100 Mini-Mags for $6.95 at Scheels. They have a one box limit at this point.

If you're willing to pay $59.95 for 100 rounds of MiniMags that should coast @ $9-10--Go for it!

Randy I tried both the Lapua Midas+ and Ely tenex in my 541 and it definitely shot the Lapua better than the Ely. Anyway fun stuff. And I am glad to hear that people are finding ammo at a better price than CTD.
take care
