It's excellent ammo, highly rated by most "experts" and it has proven street results. I carry it in some of my full sized 9's.

My only issue with it in this is the fact your planned use is for a short barreled gun. The heavier 147's naturally have lower velocities. As we both know, velocity is a key component in bullet expansion. If it were me, I'd look at the 115 gr Corbon DPX's, Speer Gold Dot Short Barrels or other lighter, faster loads better suited for short barrels.\. Some might consider this overkill, it is after all, a 3 1/2" barrel in the 9c and not a 3" barrel. However, very little ammo, unless it's a SB application is tested on barrels under 4". JMO.

Just make sure your pistol runs it well and you're accurate with it.

The pictures of that 147 gr bullet after hitting a gel pack
is a real eye opener !!

I would hate to ever be in front of just one !!
It might be even better than the 115 +P+ or the 125 +P gold dot but is a "Youngster" getting its feet wet and does not have the amount of street data that the lighter bullets have.

Only time will tell what is the top load but all are very good.

Actually the heavier bullets work very well out of short barrels according to the engineers at Winchester and Federal Cartridge Co. The fast/light/+P loadings may not burn all their powder in the short barrel and not get up to speed. The heavy/slower bullets loose less velocity out of a short barrel. Today's premium, high tech bullets are not velocity dependent for expansion as were older designs. Bullets like the HST are designed to expand over a wide window of velocities and do very well at lower velocity. HST is my first choice in business ammo and I run the 147gr out of any 9mm barrel length. Bill
